Mürzzuschlag is a town in northeastern Styria, Austria, the capital of the former Mürzzuschlag District. It is located on the Mürz river near the Semmering Pass, the border with the state of Lower Austria, about 85 km (53 mi) southwest of Vienna. The population is 8,745 (2011). Originally an industrial area, the nearby mountains are today a popular ski resort.
Under the support of Uniart , Mürzzuschlag and Pengzhou in China become sister cities and culture exchanges activities are carried out in Mürzzuschlag. A few Chinese student groups will come to Mürzzuschlag for the new year concert on Feb.17. Besides, they will have workshop in the Johannes Brahms Mürzzuschlag Music School.
The Johannes Brahms Mürzzuschlag Music School is the music education innovation center in Mürzzuschlag, having its roots in the region and maintaining a national and international network. Modern teaching methods, student-centered teaching and the promotion of individuality are in JBMS in the foreground. Regular performances, numerous ensembles and interesting projects in various fields are to be implemented by the highly motivated team of teachers together with the students.
