The Club Of “The Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir”

The club of “The Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir” was established in the Austrian Embassy in China on October 28th 2013. It was initiated by the Chinese choral experts, music teachers as well as personalities contributing to the choral and artistic exchanges between China and other countries, and supported by the Vienna Boys Choir, the Austrian Embassy in China, The World Organization for Promoting Music and Arts Education, The Association for Promoting Arts Education of the Ministry of Education of PR China, the national chorus association “Chorus China”. The club aims to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the Vienna Boys Choir and the Chinese side, and to support the development of choral education for Chinese children.


The English name the club “The Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir” was written by Gerald Wirth, the president and the artistic director of the Vienna Boys Choir (at that time).


The famous artist of the Chinese calligraphy and painting, Mr. DU Benji, who wrote the Chinese calligraphy “One World, One Dream” for the “2008 Beijing Olympic Games” and the guidance shields for all participating countries during the opening ceremony, sponsored the Chinese name of the club “The Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir” with his beautiful calligraphic art.


Till now, the club “The Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir” have been established in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu in China, with more than 30,000 music experts, music teachers, parents and kids, students, schools, NGOs, enterprises etc
